From newborns to teenagers - comprehensive paediatric urological care
One or both testes fail to descend into the scrotum. Treated with orchidopexy at 6–18 months to protect fertility and reduce cancer risk.
Urethral opening on the underside of the penis. Surgical repair (urethroplasty) at 6–18 months gives excellent functional and cosmetic outcomes.
Urine flows backward from bladder to kidneys, causing recurrent UTIs and renal scarring. Managed with antibiotic prophylaxis, endoscopic injection, or reimplantation.
Kidney swelling due to UPJ obstruction or VUR. Monitored with USS and renogram; treated with pyeloplasty when drainage is impaired.
Obstruction in the urethra of boys - often detected on antenatal scan. Treated with endoscopic valve ablation in the first weeks of life.
Tight foreskin or narrow urinary opening. Managed with steroid cream, preputioplasty, or circumcision depending on severity.
Congenital kidney anomalies causing UTIs or incontinence. Management depends on function and anatomy.
Increasing in incidence. Investigated for metabolic causes; treated with dietary changes and minimally invasive stone surgery.
Evaluated for underlying causes (nocturnal polyuria, overactive bladder, constipation) and treated with structured behavioural and medical protocol.
